| Aircell has the comprehensive solutions you need for military aviation. | Enhance Your Mission Capability | Enhance your mission capability with a reliable Aircell telecommunications system. An Aircell system gives you airborne access to voice, data, and Internet information. Any mission, any altitude, anywhere.
Adding an Aircell ST 3100 to your aircraft instantly makes you more capable. You immediately gain voice and narrowband data capability. The Iridium satellite network provides you with this convenient communication anywhere in the world. Take a look. Aircell enhances your capability by allowing all this: - Satellite air-ground voice communications
- Data access - including fax, Internet, and e-mail
- Updated weather information
- Global Positioning System (GPS) position reporting
- Affordable acquisition and use
- Redundant communications network for emergencies
Already flying in an F-15 and other military aircraft, Aircell systems can enhance a wide variety of fixed and rotary-wing missions. | | Maintain Compatibility with Existing Systems | Aircell integrates well with your existing communications assets. For example, Aircell is already tightly teamed with the Iridium satellite network. The Iridium network is the backbone of the Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS), operated by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
The Department of Defense (DoD) currently licenses up to 20,000 Iridium handsets. Today these EMSS systems see a variety of uses in the field. For tactical operations, the units are employed for logistics and medevac support. They are also widely enjoyed for welfare, morale, and recreational phone calls. The DoD owns and operates its own dedicated EMSS network gateway, which is located in Hawaii. When using this gateway, the DoD can maintain secure global communications across the Iridium satellite network. In addition, a commercially-available user terminal supports secure communications. This is done by adding a removable National Security Agency (NSA) approved Type I Communications Security (COMSEC) sleeve onto the commercial user terminal. Current Aircell products however do not support the proprietary DoD security and EMSS uses of the Iridium network. The Iridium network is comprised of 66 low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites. These satellites provide global pole-to-pole coverage. Direct satellite-to-satellite crosslinks minimize voice transmission delay, and also provide alternate routing of your important communications. | | Capable and Cost Effective | Aircell can increase your capability without breaking your budget. In addition to delivering reliable worldwide telecommunications and an array of useful services, you can take advantage of the lowest connection cost of any air-to-ground service.
From enhancing your mission capability, to maintaining vendor compatibility, to maintaining your budget - let Aircell extend your military telecommunications.
