The Airshow Network™ from Rockwell Collins is a real-time data communications service that delivers custom information profiles to airborne customers. The profiles can contain news, financial data, plus sports and weather information. The service provides information from leading content providers such as Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, Intellicast, CNN, and ESPN. Additional FeaturesThe Airshow Network also includes map features, such as detailed topographical maps, a variety of resolutions, and six different areas of coverage spanning the globe. Custom maps provide a close-up view of most metropolitan areas, while 3-D perspective maps let you see the world like it would appear from the flight deck on a clear day. The popular Relative Location Indicator (RLI) can display distance to cities or points of interest. For example, display fixed points such as your corporate headquarters. Aircell's integration with the Airshow Network delivers the custom inflight information that discriminating pilots and passengers demand. Rockwell Collins said in a press release that with their latest software, "business jet owners can also begin connecting the Airshow Network to new or existing installations of Aircell's phone systems, including ... its newest Iridium system, providing global coverage. Rockwell Collins tested the new software over the Aircell phone system at Aircell's facilities in Broomfield, Colo. Flight testing was completed with Aircell at both low and high altitudes."
