Summary:

The successful candidate will provide Linux configuration and setup as well as providing expertise in Linux & Solaris related issues. Candidate will plan and administer all Linux/ Solaris infrastructure Lifecycles. Candidate will also provide application development infrastructure support for virtualization using VMware as well as strategic planning, security, high availability, capacity planning, disaster recovery, architectural design and implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the infrastructure and application server environment to include Red Hat Linux Oracle RAC, and VMware Virtualization Servers

• Manage EMC Storage and Fiber Channel SAN switches

• Drive computing architecture, planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and modification.

• Manages the storage and backup standards, architecture, administration support and capacity planning.

• Accountable to ensure security standards are upheld specifically PCI and SAS 70.

• Monitors, controls and reports service levels for computing resources.

• Manages assets and acquisition of new hardware and software as required

• Unix installation & configurations

• Operational administration of Unix environments

• Backup and Recovery of Systems via bare metal restore

• Performance tuning and troubleshooting

• Server stability and availability management

• Server monitoring & disaster recovery

• Server upgrades and lifecycle patching.

• Implementation & Administration of Linux Cluster utilizing GFS

• Logical and physical Server Architecture and Design

• Server configuration management; Server Change control; and Server problem resolution.

• Configuration & Standards Documentation

• Provide 24x7 on-call support

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a solid Unix administration background with RHEL 5 and Solaris 10. The candidate must have implementation and configuration experience in a multi-tiered (web/ application/ database) environment and be able to learn quickly.

• Senior Linux based server architecture, design and management skills, with experience supporting high availability enterprise environments.

• Senior level operating systems experience to include Linux, and Windows

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to meet commitments and manage priorities in a high paced environment.

• Minimum 5 years of Development and production support experience on Linux Red Hat & Sun Solaris

• Oracle Rac 11g on Linux a plus

• VSphere 4 infrastructure management a plus.

• Strong knowledge of Unix scripting;

• Broad technical knowledge of client/server environments including virtualization

• Candidate must have the ability to understand requirements and develop solutions as well as ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, and clients
