Three Networks from One Company

Aircell was founded with a simple idea – make affordable airborne telecommunications available to aircraft owners and operators. In 2005, we were awarded the spectrum to permit broadband communications for passengers of commercial airliners. In 2006, the FCC also awarded Aircell the exclusive rights to operate over a dedicated spectrum, and establish a proprietary air-to ground network, allowing us to provide broadband for business aircraft as well. And just like that, the landscape of aviation communications changed forever.

Today, several network services form the backbone of airborne communications. Whatever you want to do inflight, Aircell has the know-how to help you choose the one with the capabilities and coverage that's right for your business and your aircraft. In fact, we’re the only company in the industry to offer all three of the most popular network services – Iridium, Inmarsat SwiftBroadband and Gogo Biz™.

A wide range of solutions for all the leading networks

Gogo Service – By leveraging commercial cellular technology, Aircell became the only company to introduce Gogo Biz high-speed, low latency Internet service to business aircraft. Operating at lightning speeds, passengers have complete access to the entire Internet, company VPNs and email with attachments. In 2011, we introduced Gogo Biz™ Voice service with the Aircell Smartphone for the best airborne voice experience available in business aviation.

SwiftBroadband Service – Operating over Inmarsat satellites, SwiftBroadband offers worldwide voice, email and light Internet access with data rates several times faster than dial-up. To deliver this enhanced broadband service, Aircell introduced global Satcom high-speed Internet.

Iridium Service – For many flight operations, worldwide coverage is essential. To offer a global solution, Aircell became an Iridium hardware and service provider in 2002, bringing simple and low-cost voice service and narrowband data to aircraft operating throughout the world. With Aircell's link to the Iridium satellite network, global business flyers can now talk anywhere around the world, both in the air and on the ground.
